Get to know Sauveur Lichan

Secteur: Immobilier
Company Activity:
Lieu d’activité: Miami, Florida
Langue(s): Anglais et Français

To say that Sauveur Lichan has become a full-fledged Miami citizen is an understatement. The employee of Barnes International – an agency specializing in prestige real estate – has literally fallen under the spell of Florida’s state capital, where he has lived with his wife and child for the past fifteen years.

In 2009, it was “not a personal choice” that led him to settle in the southeastern United States. As a teenager, he followed his family’s movement from Guadeloupe, where social unrest had spread throughout the French West Indies. It was in Miami that Sauveur spent his final years of high school where he successfully pursued studies in finance and international business.

“I miss French culture”

With his diplomas in hand, his professional move to Florida was an obvious choice, even though France still holds an important place in his heart. “I miss French culture,” says Sauveur. Particularly the Food and the language. But far from resorting to clichés, he is more convinced than ever by the advantages often attributed to the United States. “A more open system, based on merit and opportunity. Opportunities that he was able to seize, and which led him to join the Barnes International team two years ago, as a real estate and investment consultant.

Sauveur Lichan’s business card could do with another mention: ambassador of Miami and Florida. In addition to his main activity as a real estate agent, he is also happy to take on the title of “facilitator”, for all would-be settlers and expatriates in a climate like nowhere else. “Thanks to my knowledge of the environment and my network, I can give them advice and guide them in their installation project.” A relocation service, which also includes assisting new arrivals in selling their property in their country of origin, when this is covered by the Barnes International agency network.

Humanistic approach and his Relationship with patients

A favorite with investors and demand for real estate, the Miami area is particularly strong. It has even exploded since the Covid-19 pandemic,” observes Sauveur. We’ve seen a huge influx of investors from the United States, Latin America and Europe. And in recent years, many tech and financial industries have and finance industries have been setting up in Florida, whose image of retirees, partying and beach activities has been turned upside down by this craze.

The Franco-American real estate consultant also measures the conquest of the American Southeast in terms of price trends, which have logically undergone a major fever pitch: +160% between 2020 and 2022, and “Miami will still be the most coveted city in the world in 2023”. “However, the price per square metre remains one of the cheapest of the world’s major metropolises,” assures Sauveur Lichan. On average, for $1M, you get 33 m2 in London or 40 m2 in Paris, compared with 60 m2 in Miami, or around $16,600 per square metre. Interest in Miami and Florida “should continue, but with price rises now stabilized at around 4 to 6% a year”, he continues.

Sauveur Lichan is not surprised by the attraction of Florida for expatriates and investors. A new Eldorado that offers “an exceptional lifestyle, a tax environment unique in the United States and a strong sense of security”. In other words, a land of opportunity, which Sauveur Lichan intends to continue seizing over the coming years.
